Long-time denim and jeanswear expert, Peter Rohr, passed away on November 6, 2010, in Zurich at the age of 70.

Throughout his long career he had been responsible for the development and marketing of the Legler product range since its conception in 1966 until 1984. After this, Rohr had acted as a consultant for a number of major textile companies and jeans manufacturers worldwidwide. His years of experience in the manufacturing, sourcing and distribution of denim in Europe, Asia and the US had made him a leading figure in the jeans trade. From 1992 on, Rohr splitted his time between Bergamo (Italy), Zurich and Berlin. He collaborated with international groups and companies such as Mustang, Burlington, Italdenim, Nanotex, Arvind Mills and Rad Rags.

His close friendship with Peter Schindler, founder of Sportswear International in 1975, and his strong connection with the denim market brought him to develop various significant initiatives with Sportswear International Magazine throughout the years.

Despite his health conditions had been increasingly worsened since the beginnning of the year, he had indefatigably continued his collaborations with various international groups including those in most distant parts of the globe.

The market has lost a creative visionary mind and an unequaled master of the “blue toile" industry art. The whole jeans community will miss, though will never forget, a great mentor and a sincere friend.

The funeral service will be held November, 11, at 2 pm at CEMETERY Friedhof Enzenbühl
Forchstrasse 384, CH-8008 Zürich.
