Edinburgh-based label Hunter will enter a joint venture with the Itochu Corporation, which aims to further exploit the growth possibilities of the brand in the Japanese market. With immediate effect, the agreement coincides with the kick-off of the sales season S/S 2015.

Hunter will collaborate with different companies within the Itochu Group: Itochu Home Fashion Corporation in the footwear segment and the Coronet Corporation in the apparel, bags and accessories fields. According to the company, further plans will be announced in due course.

Founded in 1856 and originally known as the North British Rubber Company, Hunter has offices in London, Edinburgh and New York. In January 2012, the majority of the company’s shares were acquired by Searchlight Capital Partners L.P., a private investment firm that operates in Europe and North America.
