Hamburg-based trading company House of Brands its shutting down its nautical-inspired fashion brand Arqueonautas and will give back the trademark rights to the international holding company Arqueonautas Worldwide SA, an organization to save the world's maritime heritage, on April 30, 2016. The countries affected by House of Brands’ decision are Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Slovakia, Hungary and Russia. 

The spring/summer 2016 collection will be the last one traded by House of Brands, an Otto Group subsidiary that also distributes denim label H.I.S. In a corporate statement, the Hamburg-based company assures that all existing retailer orders will be met. Currently, Arqueonautas operates an own retail store in Flensburg (Germany) that will close as well by the end of April, 2016. 

In regard of the decision, Wolfgang Müller-Tonder, CEO House of Brands, stated: “Building a brand requires a great investment continuously. Arqueonautas couldn’t fulfill our economic expectations over the long term. Therefore, we have decided to return the trademark rights to Arqueonautas Worldwide SA.”
