Youth brand Hurley (, who have strong roots in beach culture, skate, art and music, have announced the release of an exclusive clothing and eyewear collection influenced by the art of iconic punk rock band, the Ramones.

The collection consists of 16 styles for men and women, and is a graphic-rich interpretation of Hurley’s signature boardshorts, hoodies, basic tees and eyewear.

Featuring premium fabrics and innovative treatments, the Ramones collection by Hurley incorporates select artwork from various Ramones’ albums and concert posters. The collection was launched during an eclectic art show at Hurley’s Headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA this past Friday and will be followed by retail launch events at Fred Segal in Santa Monica, CA tomorrow, November 6th, and American Rag at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA on November 8th.

“I love the Ramones for their energy - the songs are exciting, brilliantly simple, and fun” said Bob Hurley, founder and ceo, Hurley. “I used to make surfboards for a living and every morning at 4:30am, I’d cruise into my factory, switch on the lights, insert my cassette tape and crank up some Ramones super loud. Their music gave me energy and inspiration; and the group changed the status quo, which is something that has always appealed to me.”

Hurley’s association with the Ramones began as part of Hurley’s “Against The Grain” art series, which the company established in Summer 2005 to celebrate the intersections of surf, music, art, and the creativity that influences youth culture. The first “Against The Grain” series launched with a show featuring the art of the Ramones by Arturo Vega and surfboards by legendary shapers from the original punk rock movement.

The Ramones collection by Hurley will be available at select boutiques nationwide immediately following the launch events, with prices ranging from $50 for tshirts and $150 for hoodies.
