Young contemporary label Hot Kiss ( will soon have an older sister. The Los Angeles-based manufacturer is launching a new women’s contemporary line called Jak & Rae this spring, targeting fashion savvy women ages 25 years and up.

Offering sportswear and denim, Jak & Rae will focus on delicate feminine styles punctuated with vintage details and quality tailoring.
The debut 80 piece collection will include fitted jackets, cuffed trousers, woven and knit tops and fine gauge sweaters in a sophisticated color palette of plum, jade, pink, coral and gold. Signature looks will include special treatments to fabrications such as embroidery, enzyme washes and embellishment, as well as Japanese denim with hand applied washes and treatments.

The line will be housed in a 1200-square foot showroom at the Gerry Building in Los Angeles’ Fashion District. Playing off the line, the showroom will offer guests a stylish and inviting interior, blending antique and vintage furnishings with contemporary fixtures. A New York showroom is in the works.

Jak & Rae will target retailers such as Barney’s New York, Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcs, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom. Retail prices will range from $59 – 220.
