This November, “fast-fashion” retailer, Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), known for their affordable designer knock-offs, will offer a one-time exclusive collection designed by haute couture German designer Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld, known for designing the collections of Chanel, Fendi, and his own Lagerfeld Gallery, will create about 30 designs for H&M which will be named “Karl Lagerfeld for H&M.”

“We both had the same independently….I’ve been fascinated by what they do for a long time,” said Lagerfeld about H&M.

The famous designer will reportedly also appear in H&M’s advertisements. H&M is following in the fashion footsteps of Target and Top Shop by commissioning top designers to design collections for the mass market, and is said to be in communication with other top designers as well.
