The Tommy Hilfiger Group has just announced a new collaboration with Blauer, the iconic US brand known for its highly functional outer apparel. For fall/winter 2012/2013, the two companies will launch an exclusive collection of four limited edition jackets - two for men and two for women – that combine Tommy Hilfiger's cool American style with the guaranteed sturdiness and protection of Blauer's materials.

The pieces are made with classic British cotton fabrics that have been hand waxed for a special vintage look. Both the men and women's jackets are waterproof and have been specially styled and studied to be worn in the great outdoors, complete with oversize pockets, tweed wool details and protective patches at the elbows. In addition, a single badge carrying both the Blauer and Tommy Hilfiger logos has been applied to one sleeve of each garment. The unique items are available in military green, navy blue and brown and are accented with contrasting pop color linings. Clients will also have the opportunity to personalize their purchases by choosing the color of the inner lining from a selection of four hues exclusively on the website.

"We have always aspired to a preppy style characteristic of the US,” declared Tommy Hilfiger. “This collaboration ties two brands that are considered icons of the American way of life within a unique limited edition collection. For over 75 years the Blauer brand has been known for its resistance and durability and I'm happy I could give a modern touch to these classic items by signing them with the Tommy Hilfiger signature.”

“Fabrics are the real strength of any garment," continued Enzo Fusco, President of Blauer. “Blauer's motto has always been 'Uncompromising Performance' – and it will always be. Working with Tommy Hilfiger has been an honor and an incredible source of inspiration. Pouring our own single abilities together has given life to truly special and unique items, perfect for any context and extreme situation, though comfortable and stylish at the same time."

The limited edition will offer 200 pieces for each of the four designs. Each garment will carry a leather tag with a printed number on the lining’s inner pocket. The line will be sold at a selection of Tommy Hilfiger stores in Europe, the US and Japan, and on the website starting on September 14. Before its release, the new collection will be presented in Florence on June 20 at a special launch event at the Tommy Hilfiger Store in Piazza degli Antinori 3D.
