The so called “World’s Greatest Catwalk” will take place in Denmark’s capital on Saturday, August 14 during Copenhagen Fashion Week, August 11-15, with Helena Christensen, Denmark’s very own supermodel, serving as its key patron. Christensen will open the catwalk shows with a speech to about 100,000 spectators. The World’s Greatest Catwalk will take place in Strøget in the heart of the city. The street will be transformed into one long runway where 220 models are expected to walk the equivalent of 1 mile (1.609 km) and beat the world record for the longest catwalk ever. Over 2,400 brands will be presented at Copenhagen fashion week all in all. The event is organized by the Copenhagen Fashion Council, a group comprising Copenhagen Fashion Week and Dansk Fashion & Textile, and the four trade fairs of Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF), Gallery, CPH Vision and Terminal 2.
