After two successful joint design projects with Kaviar Gauche and Perret Schaad, Hamburg-based shoe brand and multi-channel retailer Görtz has announced its third partnership, now with the award-winning young German fashion label Michael Sontag.

The joint collection entitled "Görtz designed by Michael Sontag" will be presented during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) Berlin in July 2012 and hit stores in time for the spring/summer 2013 season. Sontag, who is internationally known and has been called a "hopeful up-and-coming-talent" by the iconic fashion journalist Suzy Menkes, had his first show at MBFW Berlin in 2009. His work stands out thanks to asymmetrical cuts, drapery and his natural color palette. "My collections progress through the cuts. It was very exciting to apply this to shoes that have to be wearable. Görtz gave me the chance to implement all of the challenges in an entire collection," said Sontag.

Oliver Bremer, chief designer of Ludwig Görtz GmbH, also expressed his pleasure, commenting: “With Michael Sontag we have secured an outstanding designer and continue our collaboration with exciting young talents from the German fashion community. Together, we have developed an innovative collection with Sontag’s very own signature that is sure to impress." The "Görtz designed by Michael Sontag" collection is planned for two seasons, will include twelve shoe models and will be available at selected Görtz stores and online beginning in January 2013. At the upcoming MBFW Berlin, Görtz will not only act as exclusive partner and sponsor of Michael Sontag, but will also provide the organizer IMG’s entire event staff with shoes.
