Starting January 1, 2015, Marco du Pré will take over the position as new CEO at Dutch denim brand Garcia. His predecessor Louk van de Sanden has left the company. For the interim period, the current management board will be in charge, receiving extra support by Nars Jonkman, Garcia’s CEO until 2005 and since then part of the brand’s advisory board.

Marco du Pré has been part of the Garcia B.V.’s advisory board since 2006.
“With our current management team we are very well prepared so that the positive development of the brand is ensured for the future, too. Marco du Pré is an expert who already knows the company from inside very well,” stated André Hennigers, managing director of the German/Austrian and Swiss market. Together with the country managers Palle Campagner (Scandinavia and the UK), Stef Gallemaers (Benelux) and Gregory Watteau (France), Hennigers currently coordinated Garcia’s wholesale distribution.

Garcia has lately registered positive results, especially in the German speaking markets. In 2014, Garcia tapped a total of 400 new POS in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; amongst these are names such as Konen in Munich or Leffers in Oldenburg. As a result, the brand is currently planning to open a new office in Düsseldorf and expand its showrooms in Munich and Frankfurt. Until 2018, Hennigers plans to raise sales to more than €80 million in these areas.

Garcia is part of the JOG Group. Its denim and fashion collections for women, men and kids are currently available in 22 countries worldwide through more than 2,500 retail partners.
