Fashion brand Guess has teamed up with the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles to launch a Guess Design Challenge debuting during the annual FIDM Debut Fashion Show on Saturday, March 13 to benefit the FIDM Scholarship Foundation.

Every year, 10 top students are selected for an advanced third-year fashion design program; each presents a fashion collection consisting of 10 to 12 looks before an audience of over 10,000 people. Students will design and present one Guess look, with a focus on denim using washes previously selected by the brand design team and FIDM designers, for the Guess challenge.

“One of our strengths at Guess is keeping our brand relevant to the ever-evolving consumer and in order to do so, we must find young and innovative talent, such as the highly gifted students we are partnering with at FIDM,” said Maurice Marciano, Chairman and Co-founder of Guess, Inc., who plans to offer the winning student a position at the company as a design assistant to the Guess design department. The student will have an opportunity to be involved in each step of the production process of the winning design, which will be incorporated into an upcoming season.
