Greenshowroom, the speciality fair for green luxury fashion, draws a positive result from its sixth edition which took place in the noble suites of Berlin’s Adlon Kempinski Hotel from July 4 to 6.
The platform hosted by Messe Frankfurt presented 25 national and international labels and their sustainable fashion collections, accessories and lifestyle products this time. Detlef Braun, Director of Messe Frankfurt, showed especially happy about the increase of international exhibitors at the fair. Labels like SeeMe from The Netherlands, Flavia Anranha and Luiza Perea from Brasil or Vilmava from Finland enriched the portfolio of brands such as Anne Gorke, RoyalBlush, Schmidttakahashi or Studio Ecocentric which have already been taking part in the fair for several seasons and appreciate its exclusive environment.

“The atmosphere is very special here – you feel like being in a place which is shielded from the busy fashion week. At the same time, I have received a very positive feedback to my collection and have already been able to write a few orders. My expectations have absolutely been exceeded”, Irina Kaschuba, designer of the label Ika Babel, summed up her perception. Anne Pastré, designer Muriée, showed a similar viewpoint: “A fair, which is taking place in such a private context, is very extraordinary. Also the fact that Greenshowroom only shows high-end fashion is very special, as sustainable clothing lines are usually more common in the streetwear segment.”
Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, which was simultaneously operated once again at Berlin’s Ewerk, had a total of 83 labels from 18 countries exhibiting at their shows.
Selected designers from both fairs were given the chance to showcase their outfits during a fashion show which was held on the evening of July 5. The 52 looks created by 18 designers were presented to an audience including German celebrities such as actress Cosma Shiva Hagen or singer Cassandra Steen.
The next edition of Greenshowroom will take place in the usual location from January 16 to 18, 2013.
