Shoes are undergoing a renaissance and impacting the entire fashion landscape, and the renewed desire for footwear has brought about a series of innovative new collections. From Mar. 12 to 14 the shoe segment will be turning its full attention to Düsseldorf where 760 exhibitors will showcase 1,750 collections for the F/W 10-11 season at GDS International Event for Shoes & Accessories. Compared to its previous edition, the fair is on par with its exhibitors. “After last year we had not even dared to dream of such a great result. Everyday we receive inquiries from exhibitors who want to present their collections,” said GDS Director Kirstin Deutelmoser. Indeed, GDS is geared up in all areas, with plenty of exciting and new brands such as Blend, Dukes, Guerilla Deluxe, Napapijri, Pointer, Fritzi aus Preußen, Bikkembergs and Roccobarocco. Following a good response to various restructuring concepts for segments in the lifestyle worlds, these were concentrated more strongly in several halls, making them clearer and more coherent. To make its hall structure even more intuitive for visitors, the Premium areas in Hall 4 have been optimized further. Merging the two concept areas Upper Style Concept and Prime Square has produced the new area prime² that impresses with its modernity and quality. In addition to the individual Upper Style Zone, there will now only be two concept areas in Hall 4. The White Cubes Area will present trendsetting and progressive high fashion while the brands of the Prime² segment will stand for contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. The young segment Design attack meanwhile will present about 100 individual young brands under the 80s banner of “Electric City.”
