The sporty accessories brand Eastpak is launching a new collection with the French designer Gaspard Yurchiekich for FW 10-11, as part of its series of collaborations with international designers.

The collection is a tribute to the “Buffalo” streetlife movement created by stylist and art director Ray Petri at the end of the 80s. Petri had been the first stylist to bring a touch of elegance and luxury to urban style; accordingly, Yurchiekich’s creations are inspired by the idea of adding beauty to everyday-use objects.

Specifically, the collection includes elements taken from a classic sportswear item such as a bomber jacket with orange inner linings. Big zippers and gilded accents are applied to Eastpak accessories and bags in Yurkievich’s clean style. Materials such as lucid nylon, pied-de-poule fabrics, metallic jacquard and embossed leather further emphasize the elegance of the newly reintepreted pieces.

The Gaspard Yurkievich for Eastpak collection includes Eastpak archive styles, including backpacks, shoulder bags, shoppers and waistpacks, as well as wallets, a multimedia drive carrier and a beauty case. Also part of the collection are two jackets inspired by the same criteria. Retail prices range between €40-€270.
