With a series of strategic initiatives, Italian jeans brand Gas wants to expand on the Indian market and has just opened its newest store in Mumbai. The shop with 150sqm is located on Linking Road, in the very heart of the city's shopping area, and is designed according to the brand's “Essensual" philosophy, a mix of essentiality and sensuality that matches Gas products' identity. The store is characterized by essential design elements and rounded decor pieces - aspects that were thoroughly chosen with the aim to let the brand's core business – denim – stand out.

The opening of this store is part of the company's strategy to further expand internationally. Especially in India, Gas has recently opened its own subsidiary, Gas Jeans Private Ltd., in Mumbai, through which they plan to open four new stores by the end of 2011 in Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarth and Ludhiana, and further twelve stores in the country within 2014.

Furthermore, Gas is sold through Indian department store chain Shoppers Stop in different shop-in-shops in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Ludhiana, and will continue expanding through additional openings in the country's major cities.

Claudio Grotto, Founder and President of Gas, said: “With its young and forward-minded population, India is a country with high potential of growth and a truly strategic country. Especially Mumbai is one of the most dynamic fashion capitals worldwide, and Gas with its versatile, contemporary spirit and high-quality products, targets the Indian consumer looking for the best within the international fashion panorama.”
