G-Star Raw debuted its G-Star by Marc Newson Limited collection today, an exclusive run of nine special edition pieces, at a gallery-style presentation at Colette, as part of Paris Fashion Week.

The latest collaboration between G-Star and Marc Newson continues a relationship that stretches back to 2003 and has resulted in several notable apparel collections best known for their bright colors and all-over prints. The collection also features Newson’s and G-Star’s shared approach to design, which incorporates clean lines, minimal seams, handcraftsmanship and quality—in this case, laminated and fused Gore-Tex; natural/white and navy/black Shearling leather; soft Merino wool knitwear; and rare wool/silk knitwear.

The range itself consists of a selection of jackets and a sweater—five styles for men, all finished in noir black, and four for women, all in buff white. The highlight of the range is the Shearling jacket, featuring Punto Milano Merino wool cuffs, waistband and integrated balaclava. G-Star also appointed the best ateliers in Japan and Italy to handcraft Marc’s designs, using a combination of traditional crafts and modern construction techniques.

Only 100 pieces of each style will be made available worldwide through 18 exclusively selected retailers, including Colette in Paris; 10 Corso Como in Milan, Seoul and Tokyo; Moss in New York; and Moss and Maxfield in Los Angeles. The pieces will range in price from €1,000-4,000 and will be available as of Jul. 15, 2009.

The Limited Collection supports the main G-Star by Marc Newson collection. These pieces feature strong geometric airbrushed patterns and vibrant colors, with each garment featuring an ultra-clean silhouette that draws upon Newson’s industrial design background. The main collection will similarly be available through G-Star retailers as of Jul. 15, 2009.
