In Berlin, few stores offer the fashion-utility bags and accessories by the Swiss brand Freitag, made from second-hand materials from the streets such as truck covers, bicycle tubes, car belts and airbags. Even then, many long for the complete product assortment.

Now, following previous store openings in cities such as Cologne and Hamburg, the Zurich-based label is gearing up to open its first Berlin store on May 4 at Max-Beer-Strasse 3 in the Mitte district.

The two-level space on about 180 sq. meters will offer the complete range of Freitag, including more than 1,600 bags, wallets and iPod, iPhone and Mac sleeves in all their one-of-a-kind variations. The new store should also be worth visiting after the brand was recently honored with a German golden design award for its outstanding store concept in Zurich.

Freitag brothers Daniel and Markus currently distribute their bags and accessories in more than 350 shops worldwide and operate their own F-shops in Zurich, Davos, Hamburg and Cologne.
