Denmark Fashion Week is bigger than ever. Here, a rundown of key fashion, showroom and trade show events taking place in the emerging fashion capital.


24 Danish brands and designers will stage single fashion shows and parties during the week of August 9-12 in Copenhagen. Participating are Elise Gug, Politiken Design Award, Designers Network, Part Two, Rützou, Designers Remix Collection, Jackpot, Gallery Grand Opening, Bruuns Bazaar, Munthe plus Simonsen, Dreams by Isabell Kristensen, Inwear/Matinque, Mads Norgaard, Helene Steensby, By Groth, Rigetta Klint, Ivan Grundahl, Musthave, Noa Noia, By Malene Birger, Bitte Kai Rand, Anna Gulmann, Baum und Pferdgarten and Henrik Vibskov.

All Fashion shows by invitation only.



In February a group of talented young Danish designers presented their collections for the first time at The Next Generation of Danish Design. The avant-garde collections of the designers Rene Gurskov, Pernille Engbirk, Kasper Harup-Hansen and Louise Wahlgreen will be back again offering international buyers and companies a bevy of young, fresh and raw design during Denmark Fashion Week.

For the seventh time 35 upcoming European designers will show their collections next to the CPH Vision trade show location.

A brand new event called Copenhagen Unfair unites disparate branches of the design world as it develops in the streets. Clothes, art, video, music, photography, drawings and graphics collide to give new interpretations of personal style. Unfair is open to the public and staged in a skate hall, which is 10 minutes away from the Øksnehallen site of CPH Vision. Shuttle buses are provided between the two events.

Designers Nest began in 2002 as an integral part of the CPH Vision fashion fair and presents this time 30 graduating Scandinavian design students from the four best known design schools. An international jury of designers and editors – among them SI’s fashion features editor Michaela Schmidinger – will reward the most promising designer with CPH Vision’s prize of 50,000 euros.

The international trade show for high quality jeanswear, sportswear, new luxury menswear and womenswear, streetwear, footwear and accessories, with over 450 collections shown in the former Øksnehallen slaughterhouse in the city center.

Covering 40,800 sq. meters of exhibition space, the 27th edition of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) will arguably be the biggest fashion fair in Europe. Since the first CIFF in 1993, the exhibition area has tripled in size. The figures from the last edition in February are equally impressive: 888 exhibitors with 4,118 collections and 30,351 visitors in total. The trade show includes brands for the following sections: Kidswear (170 brands), Party & Bride (20 brands), Lingerie & Swimwear, Womenswear, Menswear, Jeans, Footwear, Accessories and leather goods.
