The European Fashion Award FASH 2013 has announced the motto of the upcoming competition: “SEXes“ will question role models for men and women. The global contest targets talented design students from any discipline beginning with their fourth semester on. The application deadline is September 30 with copy deadline on October 25. Students may also submit their thesis in a second category; more details are available online.

An international jury of design, retail, marketing and media experts will follow determined criteria to select the winners. One of the most influential women in fashion, Margaretha van den Bosch of Hennes & Mauritz, Stockholm, is already confirmed. The jury will also include Robb Young (London), who writes for the International Herald Tribune, Financial Times and Vogue and serves as a consultant for fashion and luxury companies in Japan and Europe. Marcel Herrig, who works from his Shenzhen, China design office for clients in Germany, France, Italy and the UK & USA will also form part of the jury. Iconic designer Michael Sontag, head of the world's largest fashion library Dr. Adelheid Rasche and creative consultant Joachim Schirrmacher are also listed as Berlin's judges. Half of the jury hail from abroad to emphasize the internationality of the German award.

The winning collection will be shot by a renowed photographer and the winner will
also receive comprehensive communications services. In total, the awards are worth €80,000 with prize money of €5,000. The awards ceremony will be held at
Ispo Munich 2013 (February 3 to 6), where the pieces will also be exhibited. The European Fashion Award FASH has been offered by the German Apparel Industry (SDBI) since 2005.
