The Board of Directors of the Gaydoul Group has appointed Faris Momani as the new CEO of Navyboot AG. Momani will carry out his new duties with Switzerland’s premium shoe and accessory brand, becoming effective March 1, 2011. He succeeds Hendrik Gottschlich, who had left the Gaydoul Group at the end of 2010. In his new position, Faris Momani will be responsible for developing Navyboot as a leading international premium brand. The next major step is to enter the Asian market, which is planned for this year, with the opening of two stores in China this coming fall.

The 40-year old German most previously was Spokesman for the Executive Management of fashion label Joop!. Prior to this, from 2005 to 2009, he had gained extensive experience in global brand management at French-based and globally-active LVMH luxury goods group. In the position as Managing Director for fragrance at Christian Dior Germany, based in Düsseldorf, he was also responsible for the development of the brand’s turnaround. Momani began his career with Adidas in 1995, going on to gain international experience in various executive positions in the marketing and sales sectors within the German-based company.

Navyboot, which was established in 1991, currently has 57 retail stores in Switzerland and a further ten in Germany, including outlets in all major cities within these two countries. Navyboot was acquired in July 2008 by the Gaydoul Group, which also includes luxury fashion labels Fogal and Jet Set, as well as timewear manufacturer Hanhart, in its brand portfolio.
