The international art academy Esmod (École Superieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode) cooperates with trade fair enterprise Messe Frankfurt for the promotion of sustainability and ecological awareness in the fashion business.

The two parties have signed a cooperation contract in Paris which points out aims and projects of the long-term scheduled team work.
Both sides show delighted about their new partnership. “We are proud that Esmod is cooperating with Messe Frankfurt. This is sort of an accolade for us and underlines the superb development of our sustainable segment”, comments Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt. Meanwhile, Christine Walter-Bonini, General Manager Esmod International, stresses the authenticity of the school’s new partner: “In order to provide our students with ambitious contents, it is very important for us to work with specialists who know their métier very well. […] Messe Frankfurt possesses a high credibility in the textile industry”.

Within the coming months, both parties will work out curriculums and courses about sustainability and eco-fashion and implement these in the Paris-based Esmod academy. Moreover, Esmod and Messe Frankfurt have planned to launch the international design award “Eco-Fashion” together, carry out the “Esmod / Ethical Fashion Show”, undertake joint PR measures and built up a common international network in their field.

Messe Frankfurt is the biggest German trade fair company and records a turnover of € 448.3 million/year. It has been engaged in the eco-sector since 2007 and established both the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris and the GREENshowroom in Berlin. In January 2012, it will additionally introduce the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, carried out in the context of Berlin Fashion Week.
