Seattle has a new claim to fame: yesterday it became home to Dr. Martens’ first pop-up shop in the US.

Located downtown near Pike Place Market at 1509 2nd Avenue, the store offers the brand’s men’s and women’s footwear, including the Vintage Collection of boots Made in England and limited editions such as the newly launched collaborative Stüssy Deluxe Collection. It also stocks the full Dr. Martens Originals line.

Dr. Martens, which is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, recently launched a similar store in London. It chose Seattle as the location of its sole American pop-up because of the city’s association with alternative music and youth culture, two things that are also key aspects of the company’s own heritage.

The store has an industrial feel with exposed brick walls, raw wood floors and neon yellow fluorescent lights. Wood pallets are used to display the shoes.
