Spanish brand Desigual and Cirque du Soleil, Canadian-based company involved in different entertainment concepts, have formed a collaboration resulting in a new collection called “Desigual inspired by Cirque du Soleil” that will be launched during Bread & Butter in July. The s/s 2012 cooperative collection includes 60 pieces of clothing and accessories for women, men and children. On every item of the collection there will be a distinguishing element from the Cirque du Soleil universe, a sort of fabric “patch” taken from an authentic scene.

Mario D’Amico, Senior Vice President, Cirque du Soleil, and Manel Adell, CEO, Desigual, presented the special agreement in Madrid inside the big circus tent Tapis Rouge VIP near the Big Top, where until June 5 Cirque du Soleil hosted their “Corteo" show.

“Cirque du Soleil and Desigual have a lot in common,” commented D’Amico. “Desigual has chosen to be different in the fashion business with its own playful and unique creations. Cirque du Soleil has brought the same innovative push in circus art and live entertainment."

From November onwards, the collection will be available online, and starting in December, it will hit the stores and will be offered at Desigual stores worldwide, department stores like El Corte Ingles, Galeries Lafayette and Coin, as well as in Cirque du Soleil’s show boutiques on their tour.
