This past Saturday, Desigual has opened its Italian flagship store in Milano, on Corso Buenos Aires, at the corner of Via Boscovich 58, a lively commercial area in the city. The store measures over 500sqm on two floors and is reflects the typical shopping environment of the brand aimed at encouraging impulse buying and having fun while shopping. By end of October, the company will officially inaugurate its new flagship with a special party.

The store offers the Desigual collections for men, women, kids, as well as accessories and bodywear. Moreover, the offer the first Desigual capsule collection designed by French designer Christian Lacroix, the new Desigual by Cirque Du Soleil collection and the newborn Desigual footwear line.

The Spanish brand is putting a strong focus on Italy since this market accounts for 19% of the brand's global revenues (€440 million in 2010). Also significant markets are Spain, France, Germany and UK. By the end of 2011, Desigual expects to open 11 own stores in Italy (in Bologna, Fidenza, Milan, Naples, Rome and Venice), be available at over 1,200 multibrand stores and 70 corners in the major department stores (59 at Coin at 11 at Rinascente).

In 2010, Desigual sold more than 15 million items in its own monobrand stores and 1,250,000 pieces were sold in Italy alone. Desigual is now sold in over 75 countries all over the world and aims at increasing its POS worldwide. In 2010, Desigual was sold through 200 own stores, 7,000 multibrand stores and 1,700 corners in department stores.
