Messe Frankfurt is pressing ahead with the internationalization of its Fashionsustain Conference. There will be two spin-offs in Los Angeles and Shanghai. On September 20 Fashionsustain will be giving a guest performance at the LA Fashion Festival (LAFF) in Los Angeles. On September 26, the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics in Shanghai will provide the setting.
At LAFF Fashionsustain will be held under the motto "The change of fashion is now" and will take place in close cooperation with Lenzing. In addition, Lenzing will have its own booth at the fair to provide information about the value chain and the sustainability and functional advantages of its fiber and yarn brand Tencel. Among others, representatives of Lenzing, Candiani and Global Denim as well as Adriano Goldschmied and Kerry Bannigan from the Conscious Fashion Campaign supported by the UN Office for Partnerships will speak.
As a central component of the fashion events in Los Angeles, the two-day LA Fashion Festival combines influences from film, retail, innovation and beauty to create immersive cultural experiences. The LAFF emerged from the LA Fashion Film Festival and offers films, workshops, master classes, pop-ups and lectures on fashion from September 20 to 21.
Edwin Keh (Hong Kong Research Institute of Textile and Apparel, or HKRITA) will give an introduction at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics at Fashionsustain on September 26 in Shanghai. Andreas Streubig (director of global sustainability, Hugo Boss), Jiehui Kia (principal sustainability strategiest, Forum for the Future), Micke Magnusson (change agent and advisor, ReAccess) and Mikkel Hansen (program and partnership lead at Explorium, Fung Group) will then talk about the importance and challenges of building more pilot projects in the field of textile innovation and how new textiles can be brought to market faster.
