In September 2014, Italian activewear and sportswear brand Colmar will open its first and most innovative Colmar Lab concept store in Milan’s futuristic new area, Piazza Gae Aulenti, just next door to other innovative flagship stores that are expected to open, such as, for instance, Replay (see our report here) and Nike.

“The store will be our new flagship store aimed to inspire all the future stores we will open in the future,” commented Stefano Colombo, marketing manager. The new store will measure 210 sqm. And continues: “It will occupy a single level, though its ceilings will measure about 7 meters conveying a very strong scenic impact. A rock wall juxtaposed with tree texture effects will characterize its fast-forward thinking image as well as a sliding six-meter high screen.”

The Italian brand is busy opening a series of different monobrand stores such as for instance, their recently opened store in Berlin (see our previous report here), plus new ones in Annecy (France), to be inaugurated in August 2014 and, according to a franchising plan, in Brunico (Italy) between October and November.

Colmar expects to close 2014 registering about €73 million sales with +30% compared to 2013. They expect to reach about 3,000 multibrand doors by end 2014. Seventy percent of their sales come from Italy and 30% from foreign markets. They operate 12 monobrand stores – four in Italy, three in France and one in Germany. Another market where they will soon be operating is Korea.

Since two seasons, they are also managing a footwear line according to a newly signed international licensing agreement.
