Due to structural irregularities, Florentine authorities have closed eight pavilions inside the Fortezza da Basso, the traditional location of the Pitti Immagine Uomo (pittimmagine.com)trade show.

The show’s organizer is hoping authorities will cancel the measure so that spaces for the next edition of Pitti Uomo, to be held June 20-23, can be guaranteed for exhibitors. “We hope this happens soon, though it is only affecting temporary structures,” said Pitti Immagine CEO Raffaello Napoleone. “In fact our shows continue to take place regularly. We still have the time to solve everything and we never expressed our intention to move our menswear events to some other city.”

Authorities allowed three of the eight closed pavilions to be used at the recent furniture fair held at the Fortezza da Basso on March 3 to 11.

“We are waiting for the tribunal’s decision. If it will be negative we will have to find other solutions,” he added.
