Clarks, the British high street name responsible for some of the most comfortable shoes on the market, has extended its offer to include sports shoes for men and women. Encompassing two different sub-ranges, Sport Life and Sport Style, the former category is the more performance inclined of the two, delivering everyday footwear designed with specific sporting capabilities, such as fitness and trekking, in mind.

Features within the Sport Life offer include Clarks’ already established trademarked Active Air underfoot cushioning, as well as the enhanced Active Air with Air Flow System. In addition, a set of technologies developed exclusively for Clarks Sport have been put in place; these include the Atsu massage foot-bed and the Rock outsole that offers grip, stability and abrasion resistance.

Coinciding with the introduction of the new Sports line, F/W 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of Clarks’ classic footwear staple, the Desert boot. To celebrate the occasion, a plethora of different Desert boot variants has been created, each one inspired by the prevailing styles of every decade since 1950 until 2000. To mention two of the Anniversary models on offer, fringe details and purple suede capture the mood of the 1970s whereas the Union Jack has been used to symbolize Britpop influences of the 1990s.
