The British shoe brand Clarks has announced the appointment of Helen Thompson to the role of European Regional Director and Rolf Huigen to the role of Director of Central and Eastern Europe. These appointments form a part of a wider strategic development for Clarks, which is also undergoing the creation of four operational regions: the UK and Ireland, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. The European region will be structured into Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe and Southern Europe. The Central and Eastern European operation will be based at the Clarks offices in Reutlingen, Germany.
Thompson will report to Ken Dobinson, International Director, in her newly created role of European Regional Director. She will be responsible for the continued development and strategic growth ambitions of the Clarks Group across the continent. Prior to this appointment, Thompson served as Head of International Franchise for Clarks. As Director of Central and Eastern Europe, Rolf Huigen will contribute to regional business development. Huigen’s appointment coincides with the departure of Petra Fraune, who left to pursue new challenges.
Dobinson commented, “These appointments are representative of the ongoing development of a more integrated global business at Clarks. Helen and Rolf will bring valuable experience to the leadership of Clarks’s European business and I am delighted to be working with such established professionals in the industry. Europe remains a target market for Clarks, not only because of our loyal customer base and valued partners but also because we see Europe as an area for future business development.”
