During the past 12 months, online shopping club Brands4friends has reportedly doubled its mobile generated sales and increased them to a share of 33% of its total sales in July 2013. On some days, the share has even passed the 50% mark.

Most mobile accesses are carried out on Apple devices: 58% were generated via iPhones, 25% via iPads. In addition to Brands4friends’ iPad and Android apps, the enterprise’s five million registered users may now also access the shopping platform on any given device via the enterprise’s newly launched mobile website.

To comply with the growing mobile trend, Brands4friends wants to expand its mobile team at the company’s Berlin-based headquarters. “Our massive growth in the mobile sector speaks for itself. Therefore we are especially looking for experienced iOS and Android developers to support our agile, quick and flexible team with the in-house development of our apps,” said Stephan Schmidt, CTO at Brands4friends.

Brands4friends sells off-price branded fashion and lifestyle products (often surplus-stocks or off-season merchandise) in limited online auctions. The company currently employs around 200 employees in Berlin and was taken over by Ebay in 2011.
