German fashion brand Rich & Royal recently revealed its sustainability initiative and intends to expand its sustainability goals.
The concept includes the increased use of sustainable outer fabrics such as organic cotton, Lenzing Ecovero viscose fibers and recycled polyester. Further attention will be paid to seals for sustainable fibers and fabrics, such as BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), Oeko-Text Made in Green, FSC (Forest Sidewardship Councel), GRS (Global Recycled Standard), RDS (Responsible Down Standard) and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
According to Rich & Royal the company has over 85% of its production in Europe. Italy and Portugal are the main production countries, where close partnerships are maintained with the mostly family-run companies, such as Candiani. With the delivery date May/June 2020 Rich & Royal offers a capsule collection made of 100% sustainable materials. The denim collection is developed from over 90% with Candiani Denims.
Patrick Stupp, owner of Rich & Royal, says: "Sustainability is the concept of the hour! Therefore, we have further optimized our existing concept and are constantly advancing our sustainability goals, from the first step of fiber production to the last logistical step of shipping. It is also very important for us to inform the retailer transparently and intensively about the topic of sustainability at Rich & Royal. In our information material we have summarized the most important points in a short and understandable way so that the sales staff can also be made aware of the aspects of sustainability and be prepared to face the increasing expectations of the consumers on this topic.”
