Renowned denim expert insider and designer Adriano Goldschmied, after having launched his Acynetic innovative woman’s denim brand in 2015, together with insider Marco Doro, has started a new course for the brand.
When Goldschmied launched the collection it was all made with knit-denims and similar fabrics. From f/w 2017/2018, it will be a 100% denim collection as a desire to literally go back to the denim roots of the ‘80s and '90s.
Goldschmied commented: “I don’t consider this as a change but rather an addition of a new product category. I decided it was the right time to do so for f/w 2017/2018 as we are now showing to buyers a much richer and more complete Acynetic collection.”
And continues: “It was a very logical and natural decision. At the first presentation of Acynetic I’ve been very focused on bringing to the market a strong innovation like the indigo knit that opened a new concept in denim, but I also quickly realized that my customers are not only hungry for new ideas and products as they are also real ‘Denim Lovers’.
That's why I took inspiration from what I did in the late ’80s and early ’90s to design a line that is bringing to the market a different vision that is totally new for the millennial customers.”
The aim of the operation is not to change the brand and transform it into a complete total look. Goldschmied added: “I don’t think that now is the time for that. I feel that consumers have so many information and options today that all they need is the excellence and the best in a very limited number of categories. I prefer to be very focused and be a leader of the new generation of denim instead of being confused on the mediocrity of a complete ‘total look’ offer.”
The new collection is made up of 25 pieces in woven denim and 30 in indigo knit materials, all available in a variety of blues, black and other shades of denim.
Also new for the brand’s course is a partnership with Stylistico showroom, an upmarket new fashion showroom in New York, as part of a plan to make the brand further expand in the US market. The brand will be disclosed to the US market within the February 2017 edition of New York Fashion Week.
The Stylistico showroom is based on East 19th Street, New York City, and is directed by luxury market experts Guglielmo Melegari, former US CEO, Pomellato and Max Mara, Lauren Kiefer, former VP/DMM, Bergdorf Goodman, and Marcello Abrate, former CEO, Benetton North America.
The showroom’s portfolio of brands includes, in addition to Acynetic, Albino Teodoro, A.t.p.co, Gentry Portofino, Jonofui, Marinella, Onefivezero, Pantofola D’Oro, Paloma Barcelo and Silvano Sassetti.
“We absolutely wanted a showroom in New York that was in line with the spirit of Acynetic,” continued Goldschmied. “And we found one as Stylistico. It is an innovative showroom managed by pioneering executives who provide an in-depth and bespoke approach to the US market.”
