Italian streetwear brand Boxeur Des Rues is expanding in Italy and internationally. The brand was born in France in 2003 and is now owned by Italian entrepreneur CEO Federico De Ponti.

“The brand is gaining success in Italy, and increasing momentum in Europe,” comments De Ponti. "Our foreign customers are especially keen on our special Made in Italy, 'Serie Exclusive' selection of products."

Boxeur Des Rues offers a complete streetwear look aimed at men (65%) and women (35%). From F/W 2013/2014 the brand will also be targeting kids aged between 4 and 14. It offers about 200 items per season, of which 40 items are the "Boxeur Des Rues Serie Exclusive" special selection produced in Italy, aimed at high-end multibrand stores and focused on greater research products in terms of style, materials, finishings and techniques of production. This selection is 25% more expensive than the main line which retails at between €20-€35 for a t-shirt and €80 for a pair of jeans.

Currently 80% of the brand's revenues come from Italy, although exports are growing rapidly. The brand is also sold in Russia, Spain, France, Switzerland and The Netherlands. The brand is currently sold through 550 stores between Italy and Switzerland and 36 stores in other foreign markets. Boxeur Des Rues closed 2012 with sales of €25 million, producing 1.5 million pieces. The brand expects to close 2013 with stable results.

The company has already opened two flagship stores, most recently one in Milan in November 2012, and one in Madrid in November 2013. The brand will open its first French monobrand store in St.Tropez in 2014.

The brand has many projects planned for 2014 and is participating in the international activewear trade shows; Ispo in Munich in January 2014; and Rimini Wellness, Rimini in June 2014. "We like the idea of bringing streetwear to the sports world because the border between these two universes is hard to define and tends to overlap. Moreover, it is in the DNA of our own brand; Boxeur des Rues literally means bringing sports to the street, which is precisely the idea behind our brand!"
