Brendt Barbur, who has served as the festival’s founding director since 2001, initiated the Bicycle
Film Festival in Milan as a platform to celebrate the bicycle through
music, art and cinema. The Bicycle Film Festival has been a major catalyst for the urban bike
movement, one of the most powerful and culturally relevant forces of the
last decade.

The festival has had a significant impact on youth culture and has been
embraced by many, including leaders in the realms of music, fashion,
design, fine art, sports and film.
A highlight from this year’s event was the screening of "Where The Trail Ends," in which
viewers follow the business of international mountain bikers through some of the
planet’s most beautiful places.
The festival’s soundtrack was provided by Wildmen, The Van Houtens and The Dancer.
