The second decade of Bread & Butter has started yesterday. The 26th edition of the international streetwear trade show, taking place from January 18 to 20 this year, is themed “High Voltage” and was kicked-off by a show from Argentine performance group Fuerza Bruta who transformed the fairground into a big top. Their impressive performance which partly took place in under the roof water tanks was followed by a DJ set of combo 2 Many DJs.

In the preceding press conference, Karl-Heinz Müller, head of the trade show, showed confident about visitor numbers, the course of the show and the latest changes and renovations that had been undertaken (SI reported about the installation of the new BBB areas). Moreover, he already gave an outlook on the upcoming Bread & Butter summer edition themed “The Rock”, which is going to take place in Tempelhof from July 4 to 6 this year on further extended exhibition space. Though sanguine, Müller admitted that in current times of crisis, business is not only going to be easy by stating: “Prepare for a strong winter!”

The exhibitors’ perception of the atmosphere and achievements of the first trade show day were generally positive. Although the grounds felt less packed than usually at the morning, more and more visitors swarmed in for the noon and afternoon hours so that happy and content tenors were released by everyone from British brand Superdry to sneaker specialists New Balance or Italian menswear label Antony Morato.
