On July 11, 2018, Isko held the fifth edition of its educational project, Isko Iskool Denim Award, in Milan’s BASE in the lively Tortona area.

This year’s creative theme “UnDocumented” tried to imagine the future of denim as seen from the eyes of young talents and newly graduated students from around 30 international fashion schools. It involved them in projects interpreting values of sustainability and respect for the environment.

“Brands today are requested a great deal of transparency as there’s a growing number of people who want to make more conscious choice when choosing products and services. Understanding how responsible ingredients contribute to a brand story is part of the challenge we gave the students this year. We are proud to offer young professionals the opportunity to think beyond preconceived borders, to ‘document’ new possibilities and being able to influence the industry they will work in as interns from within,” said Fabio Di Liberto, brand director, Isko.

The initiative initially drew 216 contestants including students attending highly qualified fashion schools and up-and-coming young creatives (also read here). The 32 chosen finalists included 20 young talents who participated the Denim Design Award and 12 other creatives who participated the Marketing Award, all supervised by Isko’s marketing team and Isko’s Creative Room, the company’s creative studio based in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy.

The shortlisted participants were voted by two distinct juries of experts, partners and insiders and were awarded at the special final event and party held in Milan.

While announcing that in 2019 Isko will support another edition of the Isko Iskool contest, Rosey Cortazzi, Isko’s global marketing director, explained that new challenges and opportunities will be offered to the young talents that will participate: “We at Isko offer a 360 degree service to our customers which includes creative support, wash support and research and development. On top of this we are constantly evolving our presence in the global market with our unique perspective on citizenship and responsibility, denim competence and innovation. Isko Iskool is one of the educational activities through which we pursue our core objectives. 2019 will see Isko continuing to advance the Isko Iskool program whilst still maintaining the focus of educating and developing young people to become future denim industry leaders.”
