Danish company KnowledgeCotton Apparel has received its third award in just two weeks. At the Swedish Design Award 2019 event, in October, the brand was awarded gold in the "Photo" category. The prize was awarded for a series of lifestyle images in which KnowledgeCotton Apparel products were presented in different environments around Los Angeles, California. Johan Andrén, head of communication and development at KnowledgeCotton Apparel, stated: “We are obviously very happy that our communication is best in class, just as we strive for our products to be. To be repeatedly praised for our work, we see as proof of our quality approach reaching out and being very well received.”
Previously, the company had received the “Success Business 2019–Sustainability” award “for showing that it is possible to generate profit and still have a great sustainability focus,” as the jury statement quoted. “Getting recognition for the hard work we put in to run a successful business obviously means a lot to us. Happily, more and more people see the need to consume responsibly, and we strive to push the business in sustainable clothing. We always put sustainability first, both in our own company and with our suppliers. It’s a part of our responsible approach of social and environmental aspects,” said KnowledgeCotton Apparel owner and CEO Mads Mørup.
KnowledgeCotton Apparel also won the “We Love to Care” award from the renowned Danish department store Magasin du Nord. “This award is a fine recognition for all the hard work that we put in every day. It is especially rewarding that it comes from one of our initiated partners. It shows that our values are clearly present in every step of the way, from our supply chain, through our retailers, to the end consumer,” said Mørup. Magasin du Nord explained its choice with the fact that they “want to take responsibility for people, the environment and the planet”. The prize is endowed with €6700 for a charity project chosen by the partner in collaboration with Magasin.
