Adidas has announced the appointment of a few new managing directors for the brand. Following the appointment of Gil Steyaert as a member of the board of directors, responsible for Global Operations, Alain Pourcelot will immediately succeed Gil Steyaert as managing director Western Europe.
Moreover, Martin Shankland will succeed Osman Ayaz as managing director of Emerging Markets effective October 1, 2017. Ayaz will retire at the end of this year. Alain Pourcelot and Martin Shankland will report directly to Roland Auschel, member of Adidas’ management board, responsible for Global Sales.
Alain Pourcelot (French, 51) joined the brand in 2005 as marketing director for France. From 2012 to 2015 he headed the whole organization in France as managing director. Since 2015, he has been senior vice president Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) for Western Europe. Martin Shankland (Australian, 45) joined Adidas Russia in 1997, initially as CFO. For the last 17 years, he held the position of managing director for Adidas Russia / CIS.
