Although the action sports it specializes in tend to be solo activities, the Agenda show is learning that there is power in teamwork. A member of the Modern Assembly cooperation of trade shows in Las Vegas in August, Agenda has also just announced an endorsement with the Board Retailers Association, or BRA, for its next Long Beach edition on July 25-26.

It will work with the 10-year-old non-profit trade association that represents more than 500 sports retailers across the US to support independent retailers who shop the show.

"Supporting the independent retailers is at the core of the Agenda business model. It’s a natural collaboration for Agenda and BRA to unite for the greater good of our Industry,” says Mike Carter, Agenda’s vice president of sales and marketing. The relationship will give us the opportunity to further focus on the needs of the independent retailers and brands.”

"I'm excited to see BRA and Agenda joining together to promote the continued importance of specialty retail in our industry,” says Bruce Cromartie, founder of BC Surf & Sport. “Agenda-Long Beach is the premier show on the West Coast, and an important venue for all our members to attend."

BRA has not endorsed a West Coast show since the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) show folded in 2010. To celebrate the partnership, BRA and Agenda will host a private event for BRA members, brand leaders and independent retailers after the show’s first day, July 25.

Agenda’s next New York edition begins this Wednesday, July 10 and runs through July 11.
