British online retailer Asos achieved positive results in their most recent fiscal quarter which ended September 30, 2011. Compared to last year’s respective period, retail sales climbed from €79,991,000 to €122,408,000 and thus grew by 53% year-on-year. After having launched a German, French and American online shop in October 2010, Asos continued its international expansion this month by opening three additional country-specific versions of their web shop in Spain, Italy and Australia which takes the total number of Asos sites to seven. During the past three months, the online retailer has achieved 58% of their sales internationally.

CEO Nick Robertson comments on the enterprise’s development within the past half-year: “I am pleased to report a strong first half performance. Our retail sales grew 60% over the comparable period, with our international business more than compensating for the economic challenges facing our UK customer base. […] With costs and stock tightly managed and retail margin ahead of prior year, we are confident of achieving results in line with market expectations.” was launched in the year 2000 and today offers over 50,000 branded and own product lines including womens- and menswear, footwear, accessories, jewelry and beauty products.
