American retail concept Anthropologie has expanded its activities in Europe by launching a German version of their online shop. On, shoppers will find fully translated web content and receive the possibility to order a selected range of the Anthropologie assortment including women’s fashion, shoes and bags, jewelry, accessories, home products and books. Prices are displayed in Euro and orders will be shipped to Germany within two or three working days for a delivery fee of €10.

According to the company, running its first web page in a foreign language and getting to know the German market and its customers, will give Anthropologie the ability to select the best assortment offer in case the company was to open any stationary retail stores in Germany in the future. To further introduce the company to the German market and explain its boutique-like shopping concept which mixes not only clothing and furniture, but also new and vintage pieces, Anthropologie will carry out a press event for invited guests organized by communication agency Claudia Wünsch in Berlin on November 22, 2011.

Anthropologie is part of the Philadelphia-based enterprise Urban Outfitters Inc. Founded in 1992, the brand launched its mail-order catalogue in 1998; eleven years later, its first non-US stores opened in Canada and the UK. Since 2010, the London-operated website delivers merchandise to more than 31 European countries including Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Finland, Poland, Sweden, Greece, Ireland and Estonia. The new German web page had its soft launch in September and was fully established this month.
