Alpha Industries will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October. The military apparel producer is well known for its iconic American air force MA-1 flight jacket, which was the true star of the movie “Top Gun” and established itself as a wardrobe staple for many British subcultures.

To commemorate its 50th anniversary Alpha Industries will launch a jubilee range which is reassuringly fashion focused. Highlights of the jubilee collection include a limited edition flight jacket and the CWU Anniversary jacket with elaborate stitching on the back and inside of the garment. Also launching as part of the celebration is a new shape, “The Bickle,” which is based on Robert De Niro’s Travis Bickle in the film “Taxi Driver.”

The Alpha Industries collection now includes 120 different garments, but the core garments remain true to the brand’s signature fabrics updated through the introduction of an attractive two-tone and liquid nylon fabric. The brand has also revisited its product archive and breathed new life into several military classics including its field jackets and parkas for the upcoming winter.
