Adidas ( and British designer Stella McCartney have announced that they will extend their partnership for the Adidas by Stella McCartney line until 2010. The cooperation started in 2005 with spring/ summer collection sold by exclusive retailers mainly in Japan and the USA. At present, Adidas by Stella McCartney is distributed to more than 400 retailers in more than 40 countries.

Hermann Deininger, Adidas’ global brand creative director, said of the contract extension, “The worldwide success of the collection continues to exceed our expectations. Adidas by Stella McCartney obviously met a need in the marketplace. We are very pleased to continue this inspirational partnership.”
So far Running, Gym and Swim have been the main topics of the collection, which was awarded the Sportswear International Fashion Award (SIFA) last July in the category of Best Women’s Sports Style. In the next spring/summer collection, tennis will be added as well.
