What are the current bestsellers of your store and why?
Because our store entails over 180 Dutch labels, our bestsellers include a variety of fashion and design. Among our bestselling brands there are Pikaplant but also several other brands such as, for instance, Claes Iversen, Bas Kosters, Scotch & Soda and Pieter. What makes our store’s offer so special and successful is the mix of products starting from €3.95 to art pieces that can cost up to € 8,000.
Do people buy according to their favorite brand, style, or impulse?
X Bank is an inspiring destination offering various more or less renowned brands. The unique factor that characterizes our offer is that we have been selecting each single article and that they are all Dutch art, fashion and design pieces. Our customer isn’t focused on one brand in particular, but almost never leaves without a purchase.

Where do you order from? How do you inform yourself about trends?
Our team informs itself about the latest brands and collections in various ways. We are always on the look out for new additions or trends but we also continue to get more requests by the labels themselves. Dutch creatives and entrepreneurs tend to be quite hands-on and truly proud of what they’ve created, so many designers come by the store to show us their latest styles or just simply inform us via e-mail after which we’ll decide if it would fit into our collection.
How important is the communication with regular customers? How do you communicate with them?
X Bank is housed in the luxury W Hotel, which attracts many visitors, both from foreign countries and domestic ones. We try to keep in touch with all of our customers on a personal basis by exchanging information, sending personal e-mails and invitations to exclusive events. We believe a genuine connection with the customer is the key to a great in-store experience.

How do the collections you offer for next s/s look like? And what are the most important trends, in general?
We’ve been noticing more labels aren’t working with seasons. Considering that resort wear is becoming more and more popular, you can definitely see the blending of seasons in s/s 17 collections. At X Bank we try to sell the most impressive pieces of a collection, the products that the brand in question really wants to showcase. We’ve also noticed that menswear in general is becoming more feminine this upcoming season, with tighter fits and a lot of colors.
Did you add any new labels to your assortment?
We add labels on a monthly basis, so we can keep rotating our collections and designers. That’s what makes the store vibrant and surprising for each customer. This month we’ve added Laundry Industry, Jupe by Jackie, Soepel products, Property of and beautiful lighting by Alex de Witte.

How does your store differ from other stores?
X Bank is the home of almost 180 Dutch labels. We are an active store, exhibition hall, installation gallery, and meeting point for anything and everything in cutting edge art, fashion and design. X Bank’s foundation is based on our customer’s demand for innovation, interest in the purest representation, and growth in the original purchase. We only exist because of our talents and we act as the frame to their art. We are the vault of Dutch talent.
What do you like about your customers?
Most of our customers are well travelled and fashion-minded people who appreciate talent and we love how we still manage to exceed their (sometimes high) expectations. The X Bank customers have an open mind, something that you might need when entering our store.

How important is the interior, the atmosphere and the whole package?
All very important! Especially in a big store like ours, all the three elements you mention have to have a good synergy and a natural flow, so the customer feels at ease and happy when entering our space. This also goes for music, energy, visual merchandising and our staff - all elements are just as important as our collection and products.
