David Sarfati always had a connection to fashion. His parents owned a boutique and from the early age on Sarfati was in contact with the fashion industry. He began his career in New York as an assistant in a design studio, where he learned the art of packaging and the impact of a sharply defined visual identity. Back in France, he joined the image and visual merchandising team of the Parisian department store Galleries Lafayette. Then in 2012, he decided to work on his own brand and left his position at Galleries Lafayette. This was when 13 Bonaparte was born.

 

Sarfati’s way of designing is easy to decode. His wardrobe styles for men are as contemporary as they are timeless, functional and versatile. Sarfati’s designs don’t need any bling factor, extra zippers, patches or other chi-chi to impress. His strength is simplicity and the choice of fabrics. 13 Bonaparte collections are season-less. Everything is produced in Europe. The store and the design studio are located in Paris' Haut-Marais, at 2 bis rue de Normandie.

 

Due to a strong demand of American customers, the Paris-based label recently opened a pop-up store in New York, selling the midseason wardrobe and premiered its expanded le denim collection, which included pieces designed specifically for women.
