After running up and down trade shows in Berlin, Paris and Copenhagen, one thing is for sure: the hype about merging performance characteristics with contemporary fashion remains undisputed in fall/winter 2015-16. Jackets with reflective elements are one proof of this trend.

This trend follows the premise that fashion must also be practical and functional. The success of reflective jackets might also be explained by the current passion for outdoor activities like jogging or cycling among many fashion consumers, who look for clothing adapted to their daily needs.

Still, the visual-appealing element is fundamental for the success of a reflective jacket. A cool design and cut make a difference. My favorite: Brixton, who wisely combine this reflective feature in a longline bomber jacket, one of the items that will go strong next fall/winter 2015 season.

The wave of enthusiasm around reflective apparel has also reached celebrities like Pharrell Williams and wife Helen Williams, who attended the Grammy Awards ceremony wearing Adidas Originals custom-made reflective suits.
