A while ago I bought some Puma sneakers in a beige tone. Don’t ask me why. I really don’t know it anymore… in the end I didn’t wear them and sticked to my good old black and easy to combine running shoes.

Then I got a visit from my best friend who is a stylist and even if we have a completely different look and taste I listen to her advice, especially when it comes to sneakers. She saw the camel Pumas in the corner of my corridor and said: “Why are you not wearing these? This is going to be the next big trend color for sneakers!” I have to say that this was a couple of months ago and it seems to be that she was right.

Ricardo Tisci recently presented his last release of the Nike x R.T. Air Force 1 trilogy: a collection of beige sneakers. Suddenly it seems to be that beige sneakers are popping out everywhere: Asics, Reebok, Puma, Palladium, Converse, Kappa – everybody puts their trust in beige.

Even though I had my problems with this color I have to admit that it is a nice diversion to all the black and white sneakers that everybody wears at the moment. Maybe beige has the chance to become the new black…and if not there are a couple of other colors waiting to be hyped. I would guess burgundy or orange…
