Victoria Beckham, Kendall Jenner and Olivia Palermo – they all wear it: the long vest. In combination with pieces like the turtleneck, a simple shirt or sweater, the long vest is becoming the new it-piece for the upcoming summer season. The long vest is also a good fashion piece for the layering look, as seen during Fashion Week in Milan, London and Paris.

Replacing the cardigan with its light fabrics, the vest comes in many variations: with a collar with lapels or just a standup collar, with pockets or just a minimal design without them. They can have classic pinstripes or a plain design without pattern.

Long vests can be combined with T-Shirts, long sleeve tops, blouses, crop tops and sleeveless shirts - classic with a belt or worn open for a casual style. They are wearable with any shoes, like high heels, platforms, sandals or sneakers. Brands like Aquilano Rimondi, Iceberg, Richard Nicoll and Topshop offer the trend-piece, which will also play a role in A/W 2015.
