Popping up on the runways in New York, Milan and Paris already in 2014, patches and emblems have now made their triumphal way to the streets.

The quirky little patches have been the buzz in the ‘70s and again in the ‘90s, so it comes as no surprise that they are currently celebrating a major comeback when looking at the current general enthusiasm for these decades.

Seen on celebs like Rihanna or Lourdes Leon, models like Cara Delevingne and Irene Kim as well as on several fashion influencers like Miroslava Duma and Chiara Ferragni, the motto clearly is: ‘the more, the better’.
Classically, patches can be worn on jeans, oversized denim and leather jackets or backpacks. Matched with luxury accessories or sneakers, the ‘covered in patches’ look gets a new modern twist.

From hyped leather patches by designer Anya Hindmarch to textile ones, the patches can be simple as well as richly ornamented. Themes vary from retro patches (smileys, band or sport team patches) to new original shapes (lipsticks, letters etc.) – as long as it’s fun, it’s good!
