Following a soft opening last month, Zadig et Voltaire feted its first East Coast store in New York City (second in the US after Los Angeles) with an appropriately casual chic cocktail party last night. Actress Alexis Bledel, NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon and stylist to the stars Patricia Field came out to toast the roughly 1,800-sq.-foot store at 831 Washington, which offers the full range of women’s and men’s wear, including several exclusives to the New York store, and accessories. Best known for its breezy cashmere knits and rock ’n’ roll-spirited separates, the French brand selected a former printing lab in the Meatpacking district in which to set up shop, but added a modular white centerpiece, a mirrored ceiling and a men’s annex in the back to give the store just the right amount of dazzle and je ne sais quoi.
